I found my way to the yoga mat over 30 years ago to combat the effects of competitive distance running and the wear and tear of becoming a mom of three. Initially drawn to the physical aspects of yoga, I saw first-hand how awareness of the mind-body-breath connection taught in yoga served me off the mat as well. In 2011, I completed a Yoga Alliance 200- hour yoga training to extend my practice to the next level, and I was encouraged by my teachers to share my enthusiasm for yoga and its far-reaching benefits with others. Fast forward a decade, with over 750 hours of teaching experience on the mat and certified through Yoga Alliance as E-RYT 200/RYT 500/YACEP, I have led private lessons, small groups, large groups and workshops ranging from elementary age children to senior adults. Time on the mat can change depending on where one is- some days it will be a refuge, some days a reconnection, some days a playground, some days a challenge- but it should “almost” always leave the corners of your mouth upturned.
