At 6684 feet, Mount Mitchell is the tallest mountain in eastern North America. Mount Mitchell State Park is wonderful to visit and features great trailheads.

Room occupancy limits can be extended during events by bringing air mattresses, bed sharing with small children, and adding camping. Often larger groups simply have some guests stay in the many nearby AirBnbs or similar.
